Either you are a hiking-addict or not, claim it! It's just good to say if someone ask, "Been there, done that!"

Queenstown Hill
You couldn't say you have experienced the whole Queenstown if you never been here. From town centre, this intermediate hike is around 3 hours return. I recommend not to walk from town and drive to starting point of hike. Since the hardest part is from town haha. An amazing 360 degree view from the summit awaits you and the Remarkable mountain is just mesmerizing.

2. Moonlight Track via Ben Lomond
One of Lord of the Rings filming location! The Ford of Bruinen scene where Erwan took Frodo on her horse and defeat Nazgûl by conjuring up a flood.
Taking around 7 hours from up the skyline gondola or around 8 hours from town to Arthur's point, Moonlight Track is moderate and is one of a must hike spot in Queenstown. Encompassing Ben Lomond, you'll be indulging yourself into the untouched wilderness. Prepare the proper hiking boots, extra lightweight shirt and lots of water! I personally like hiking here during winter, the thick snow is just so lovely. In summer, could be extremely hot as not much trees to cover the track. It may be like an endless hike for many but the awaiting views and the journey itself is so satisfying. Almost halfway on the hike, this crosses the private farm where bringing dog with you is prohibited. Take the bus that comes every hour from Arthur's point backto Queenstown.

3. Moke Lake Loop
Just 15 minutes drive from Queenstown, this easy 2-3 hours loop track is famous for its surrounding mountains, grass land and abondant wildlife. The post-card like landscapes run through around the lake, and will definitely take your breath away. There is camping area provided with toilet and kitchen facility, family and child friendly place. Swim on the lake during summer. You can do fishing too.

4. Bob's Cove
This stunning easy walk is overlooking the curve of Lake Wakatipu area. The bush stretches along this 20 minute one way track and has a wealthy bird life. The track starts at the car park on Glenorchy-Queenstown Road.

5. Wye Creek
The last but not the least, this hike follows the pipepline from dam. The track leads to rock bluff and it has a viewing platform in the end. Along the zigzag walk, the view of lake and surrounding mountains are unbelievable. It's quite steep and wet, so good shoes is essential. If you like rock climbing, this is the best spot too!
In every hike in Queenstown, you definitely have to bring your camera with you. Don't miss out to capture the beauty of the Middle Earth.
Indeed!
Nice place to visit.
